FAA Flight Instructor in France (Lyon-Bron)
I’m Pierre-Antoine, an FAA instructor in France (CFI, CFII), based at Lyon-Bron (LFLY), and also an EASA flight instructor and Examiner. I work with FAA pilots living in France and elsewhere in Europe, and with EASA pilots moving to the FAA system.
What I do for FAA pilots in Europe
Flight review
The FAA flight review every 24 calendar months: ground and flight portions, logbook endorsement.
Instrument proficiency check (IPC)
When your instrument currency has lapsed, ground and flight, with the endorsement.
FAA familiarisation
The FAA system for EASA pilots: FARs, airspace, publications, BASA, checkride.
BASA conversions
EASA to FAA and FAA to EASA.
Instrument training
FAA procedures, approaches, holds, partial panel — much of it first in the FAA-approved BATD simulator.
FAA endorsements
Complex, high-performance and tailwheel.
Who I work with
- American pilots living in France or elsewhere in Europe
- European pilots holding an FAA certificate, often flying N-registered aircraft
- EASA pilots converting under the US–EU BASA agreement
- Pilots preparing to train in the United States
One day on the FAA system before you convert under BASA or go to train in the US: FARs, airspace, publications, the checkride.
Where
Aérodrome de Lyon-Bron (LFLY), twenty minutes from central Lyon. Lyon is about two hours from Paris by TGV and under two hours from Geneva by road.
Lessons in English or in French.
